About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products, including meats and cheeses, and helps Members select products and make purchasing decisions. The role maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including its display cases, and provides assistance to Members. It also supports club policies, procedures, compliance, food safety, and the daily GOLD Member and Club Standards.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Work experience in a deli department.
• Experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service; answer Member questions and recommend deli items.
• Answer Member calls and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including cheeses and meats; help Members select products and offer samples.
• Prepare and package special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments.
• Display, stock, rotate, and store deli products according to food safety, freshness, and product-handling policies and procedures.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check daily for out-of-date products and follow product salvage procedures.
• Keep deli cooler shelves and display cases stocked with a variety of products.
• Operate deli equipment according to safety policies and procedures; clean and sanitize equipment and food surfaces throughout the department.
• Ensure scale systems work properly and items are weighed and priced accurately.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Support a safe, positive, inclusive environment and deliver GOLD Member and Club Standards.
