About The Position

As a Deli Bakery Associate at Military Deli & Bakery Services, you will serve military personnel and their families at a U.S. Military Commissary. The role focuses on preparing and handling bakery products while providing excellent customer service. This is not a government job, and everyone is welcome.

The position is part-time at Oceana NAS in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The listed pay is $19.50 per hour, with no travel required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in retail baking.
• Knowledge of frozen dough.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Ability to tolerate working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Ability to work as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Use commercial ovens.
• Prepare, process, package, and label bakery products.
• Inspect bakery products for quality and freshness, rotate display products, and remove products past their shelf life.
• Provide enthusiastic customer service and contribute to teamwork through positive communication.
• Assist other team members as needed.
• Maintain department and equipment sanitation and follow proper food-handling and preparation practices.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Cross-train in deli tasks as needed.
