About The Position

Military Deli & Bakery Services is hiring a part-time Deli Bakery Associate at Whiteman Air Force Base. The role serves military personnel and their families at a U.S. military commissary and focuses on food service and customer care. This is not a government job, and everyone is welcome to apply.

The associate maintains a customer-service-focused, team-oriented atmosphere and supports deli and bakery operations. Duties may include slicing deli meats and cheeses, preparing sandwiches and party trays, stocking and organizing displays, helping with shipments, and maintaining sanitation and safe food handling. Other tasks may include cake decorating, baking, and preparing rotisserie chicken. Associates may be cross-trained and asked to perform other deli or bakery duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as needed.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Ability to tolerate working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Some weekend shifts are required.

Nice To Haves

• Grocery, food service, or retail experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide enthusiastic customer service and communicate positively with teammates.
• Assist other team members as needed.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customers’ requests.
• Prepare custom party trays and sandwiches.
• Stock and organize displays, including helping with shipments as needed.
• Maintain department and equipment sanitation and follow proper food handling and preparation practices.
• Perform other deli and bakery duties as needed, which may include cake decorating, baking, and rotisserie chicken preparation.
