About The Position

Military Deli & Bakery Services is hiring a part-time Deli Bakery Associate to serve military personnel and their families at a U.S. Military Commissary. The role focuses on enthusiastic customer service, teamwork, and food preparation in a deli and bakery department. This is not a government job, and everyone is welcome to apply.

The associate slices deli meats and cheeses to customer requests, prepares party trays and sandwiches, stocks and organizes displays, and helps with shipments. The role also involves maintaining department and equipment sanitation and following proper food-handling and preparation practices. Other tasks may include cake decorating, baking, preparing rotisserie chickens, and other deli or bakery duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as needed.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Basic math knowledge and ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Ability to tolerate working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Team player.
• Some weekend shifts are required.

Nice To Haves

• Grocery, food service, or retail experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide enthusiastic customer service and communicate positively with team members.
• Assist other team members as needed and contribute to a team environment.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses according to customer requests.
