About The Position

As a member of the SpartanNash team, the Deli/Bakery Associate works independently to prepare, fry, package, display, and stock deli and/or bakery products while supporting the store’s financial interests. The associate is responsible for meeting company guest-experience guidelines and following safety and food-safety requirements. The position is located at 751 Mount View, Rapid City, South Dakota 57701.

The associate prepares and produces products according to the production planner, packages and labels them according to the program plan, and merchandises them according to flight plans and merchandising expectations. The role also includes stocking and rotating backroom products, communicating completed tasks and instructions to colleagues, and coordinating with other departments and stores to support retail growth. Additional tasks in other departments may be assigned based on customer-experience needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including frequently lifting or moving up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, and standing and walking for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce bakery and deli products according to the production planner.
• Package and label bakery and deli products according to the program plan.
• Merchandise bakery and deli products according to flight plans and merchandising expectations.
• Stock backroom bakery and deli products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
• Work with other departments and stores to support growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
• Notify the Bakery/Deli Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and completed cleaning steps to other associates.
• Follow personal protective equipment and safety guidelines.
• Follow food-safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest-experience guidelines.
• Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer-experience needs.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
