The Asheville Deburr Operator performs hand-contouring work on complex aviation engine hardware, including removing machining burrs and creating break edges, rounded edges, and chamfers on exotic metals such as titanium, stainless steel, Inconel, and Rene. The operator uses hand tools and polishing equipment, operates a drill press, and inspects finished features for conformance to required dimensions and surface finishes. The role requires careful work to tight tolerances and production plans, including polishing surfaces and blending radii, slots, holes, and other features. The operator follows process operation sheets, tooling sheets, and technical plans; keeps accurate time and part-serialization records; and maintains an orderly work area. Training is provided, and the employee must obtain CVP certification within six months and maintain annual recertification. The position involves extended periods sitting or standing in restrictive positions, along with continuous movement of the wrists, arms, and shoulders, and occasional stooping and bending. The machine-shop environment may include dirt, dust, noise, and metal particles. Designated PPE is required. Cranes and material-handling equipment are expected to be used instead of manual lifting when possible, though lifting or carrying objects up to 50 pounds may be required. The employee participates in daily team activities and is expected to communicate professionally and work cooperatively. Applicants must be at least 18 by the time of joining and be able to establish U.S. Person status for access to export-controlled information. Employment is contingent on legal authorization to work in the United States and successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable. Employees may also be subject to random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing. Relocation assistance is not provided.
