About The Position

The Debone Technician performs all Debone production work on a rotating basis, including working positions across the line. The role contributes as a member of the team, supports team programs and policies, coordinates work with teammates, and attends appropriate team meetings. The technician helps maintain team cohesiveness, raises concerns to the team leader, and works collaboratively to resolve issues and improve coordination. The position also requires familiarity with Simmons’ operating systems, including quality, security, office environment, company policies, and LEAN, and communicating concerns and improvement ideas. Other duties may be assigned in support of business objectives.

The work takes place in an environment that can be as cold as 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Employees stand and move about for 8–10 hours a day and perform repetitive physical tasks. Required protective equipment includes waterproof footwear, gloves, an apron, hearing protection, hair nets, and other equipment as needed or required.

Requirements

• Able to work in a cold environment down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Able to stand and move about for 8–10 hours a day.
• Able to perform job duties involving reaching, standing, moving about, and lifting.
• Able to perform frequent or constant movement, bending and twisting of the neck, simple grasping, fine manipulation or feeling, reaching below shoulder level, repetitive shoulder, arm, and hand motions, and use of vision and hearing.
• Able to perform occasional bending and twisting at the waist, pushing and pulling, and talking.
• Use required personal protective equipment, including waterproof footwear, gloves, an apron, hearing protection, and hair nets.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a poultry or food processing organization is preferred.
• Military experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform all positions on the Debone line and rotate as needed.
• Cut breasts and wings, pull skin, use a saw, load product, tray pack, and perform other Debone work.
• Participate as a member of the team and support the development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinate work with team members to support best practices and attend appropriate team meetings.
• Help foster team cohesiveness, identify and raise issues to the team leader, and work with the team to resolve them.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons’ operating systems and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
