Debone Support SS- (Tote maker) Night shift
About The Position
The Debone Support (Tote Maker) employee performs debone support tasks on a stand-alone or rotation basis, including slat washer, tote wash, tote maker, trash dock, ice packer, tender top collector, and other support roles. The position supports continuous production by keeping product, equipment, and materials in the appropriate places. It cleans, sorts, sanitizes, and inspects equipment according to established procedures and follows food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and chemical handling when applicable. The employee participates as a team member in developing, communicating, and implementing team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work with teammates to support best practices; and attends appropriate team meetings. The role includes helping maintain team cohesiveness, raising concerns to the team leader, and working supportively with the team to resolve issues and improve coordination. The employee is expected to remain familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems, including quality, security, office environment, company policies, and LEAN, and to understand how individual actions support those systems. The employee reports equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and quality issues to supervision, performs general housekeeping, and carries out other duties as assigned in support of business objectives.
Requirements
- Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours a day.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, or stack up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach.
- Must be able to walk constantly for extended periods and perform repetitive motions with the shoulders, arms, and hands.
- Must be able to use vision.
- Must follow applicable food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety requirements.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, protective eyewear, gloves, aprons, sleeves, and footwear.

- Follow food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and chemical handling when applicable.
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and quality issues to supervision.
- Participate in team development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
- Coordinate work with team members to support best practices and attend appropriate team meetings.
- Identify and raise team-cohesion issues to the team leader and work with the team to resolve them.
- Maintain familiarity with Simmons’ operating systems and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
- Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
