About The Position

The Debone Support employee must be fluent in all debone support work, either on a stand-alone or rotation basis. Tasks include slat washer, tote wash, tote maker, trash dock, ice packer, tender top collector, and other support roles. This role supports continuous production flow by keeping product, equipment, and materials where they need to be. It cleans, sorts, sanitizes, and inspects equipment according to established procedures and follows food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and chemical handling when applicable. The employee reports equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and quality issues to supervision. As a team member, the employee participates in the development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to support best practices; attends appropriate team meetings; and works with the team to identify and resolve issues affecting cohesiveness. The employee is expected to understand Simmons’ operating systems and this position’s role in supporting them, communicate concerns and improvement ideas, and perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned in support of business objectives. The work takes place in a cold, wet production environment with exposure to water, ice, cleaning chemicals, loud and moving equipment and machinery, drains, footbaths, and hoses. Required PPE includes hearing protection, protective eyewear, gloves, aprons, sleeves, appropriate footwear, and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Requirements

Must be fluent in all debone support work.
Must be able to stand 8 to 10 hours per day.
Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, and stack up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach.
Must be able to walk constantly for extended periods and perform repetitive shoulder, arm, and hand motions.
Must be able to use vision.
Must use required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

Clean, sort, sanitize, and inspect equipment according to established procedures.
Follow food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and chemical handling when applicable.
Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and quality issues to supervision.
Participate in team development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
Coordinate work with team members to support best practices and attend appropriate team meetings.
Identify and communicate issues that affect team cohesiveness and work supportively with the team to resolve them.
Maintain familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned in support of business objectives.
