Requirements

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience
  • Prior bank card operations experience preferred
  • Customer service skills
  • Data entry skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Clear verbal/written communication skills
  • Sound problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Fiserv/Navigator/Director/EFT preferred
  • Personal mobile device available for system sign-in and emergency procedures

Responsibilities

  • Processing debit card updates and adjustments
  • Completing daily balancing and reporting
  • Producing customer notices/letters
  • Supporting monthly audit activities
  • Assisting with special projects and workflow documentation
  • Partnering with teammates, other departments, and vendors
  • Complying with all laws, regulations, and bank procedures
  • Reviewing the day's queue and key reports, then prioritizing items that impact customers immediately
  • Following up on open questions and confirmations, aiming to close the loop by end of business day with courteous, well-documented communication
  • Completing department routines-balancing, report validation, and customer-related maintenance verification
  • Producing outbound notices or letters when needed
  • Coordinating smoothly with coworkers, other departments, and vendors, keeping messages clear, concise, and professional
  • Contributing to workflow documentation and special projects
  • Participating in bank-sponsored community events that promote Mercantile Bank
