A Look into Your Day You start by reviewing the day's queue and key reports, then prioritize items that impact customers immediately. Throughout the day, you follow up on open questions and confirmations, aiming to close the loop by end of business day with courteous, well-documented communication. You set aside focused time to complete department routines-balancing, report validation, and customer-related maintenance verification-then pivot to producing outbound notices or letters when needed. As requests come in, you coordinate smoothly with coworkers, other departments, and vendors, keeping messages clear, concise, and professional. You also build in time for monthly audit support, required training, and manager-directed initiatives. Periodically, you contribute to workflow documentation and special projects, and you may participate in bank-sponsored community events that promote Mercantile Bank. Role Summary As a Debit Card Specialist, you will support Debit Card Services by ensuring accurate card maintenance, timely issue resolution, and a consistently high standard of service for internal and external customers. This role exists to protect the customer experience, reduce operational risk, and keep debit card processes running smoothly. Key responsibilities include processing debit card updates and adjustments, completing daily balancing and reporting, producing customer notices/letters, supporting monthly audit activities, and assisting with special projects and workflow documentation. You will also partner with teammates, other departments, and vendors while complying with all laws, regulations, and bank procedures.
