About The Position

Deal the games currently being dealt at the Wanaaha Casino and newer games as implemented. It is the responsibility of the Table Games Dealer to perform the act of dealing while providing excellent guest service. The dealer shall efficiently deal and protect assigned games as described in the established policies and procedures, and internal controls, and maintain compliance with rules, laws, and regulations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Must have mathematical skills; be able to add and subtract and multiply and divide.
  • Must meet the Wanaaha Casino for dealing efficiency and pass appropriate proficiency test.
  • Must be able to deal the game in a fluid manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in diverse and challenging situations is required.
  • Ability to add monies and chips.
  • Must possess ability to interact with the public and fellow Team Members, demonstrating respect, and tact, courtesy.
  • An excellent appearance is required and must always be in proper uniform and always be friendly.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Able to hear and speak effectively in a noisy environment.
  • Must meet requirements to qualify for a Bishop Paiute Gaming License.
  • Must pass an extensive background check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Nice To Haves

  • Previous card dealing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
  • Knowledge of standard and accepted blackjack and other card game methods and procedures is preferred.
  • Will be willing to train the right individual.

Responsibilities

  • Protects, controls, and verifies the accuracy of fills, credits, openers/closers, and marker transactions.
  • Accurately exchanges cash or markers for chips.
  • Collects losing bets, pays winning bets, and collects commission based on game dealt.
  • Communicates verbally with supervisors or Table Games Manager of unnatural or irregular play and disputes on the game.
  • Notifies supervisor immediately of all mistakes or claims and makes resolution only at the direction of the supervisor.
  • Verbalizes player instructions, card totals, results or any other information as required in the procedures of each game.
  • Maintains a helpful and courteous atmosphere on the game, while controlling the pace of the game.
  • Promotes and maintains the highest level of service to all guests while staying alert to their needs and responds effectively to guest inquiries.
  • Follows all procedures regarding the acceptance of tips.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
  • Acknowledge, greet, and converse (in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner) with customers who play at or approach assigned games.
  • Able to work any shift including splits, evenings, weekends, holiday’s, and extended shifts according to established procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of all signatory paperwork specific to assigned games and, if applicable, assigned bank (Poker).
  • Adhere to and ensure that rules and laws applicable to the gaming operation are effectively enforced by direct compliance and reporting violations to appropriate authorities, as necessary. Must be knowledgeable of all Gaming policies and procedures and be willing to enforce and abide by those procedures.
  • Helps ensure the pit area is neat and clean.
  • Responsible for all security at all times.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
