About The Position

Sword is hiring for a Deal Desk & Contracts role supporting its commercial team. The position provides guidance on deal structure, pricing, and contract terms through collaboration and creative problem-solving. It calls for knowledge of enterprise sales processes, commercial contract structures, and legal language, as well as strong analytical skills and cross-functional collaboration. The role owns contracting workflows for new and expansion deals, helps negotiate customer terms, coordinates approvals, advises sales representatives, maintains accurate contract records, and updates the Deal Desk playbook.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in Deal Desk, Contract Management, Commercial Legal Operations, or a similar role supporting enterprise B2B sales.
  • Hands-on experience negotiating redlines on commercial agreements, including indemnification, limitation of liability, warranties, data privacy, and SLAs, and knowing when to escalate.
  • A track record of coordinating multi-party approvals across Sales, Finance, and Legal on tight timelines.
  • Very strong attention to detail and version control, together with commercial judgment and the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Experience with Salesforce and a contract lifecycle management (CLM) tool such as Ironclad, Spotdraft, or an equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in digital health or SaaS and with contracting through channel partners.
  • Paralegal or contract-management experience or certification.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end contracting workflow for new and expansion deals, including drafting from templates, issuing documents, tracking versions, and driving contracts to signature.
  • Review and negotiate customer redlines on MSAs, order forms, BAAs, and performance guarantees; resolve standard positions and escalate non-standard terms to Legal with a recommendation.
  • Coordinate approvals for discounts, non-standard pricing, and risk terms with Sales, Finance, Legal, Clinical, and Security, and manage approval timelines against SLAs.
  • Advise sales representatives on deal structure and commercial levers, and coach them on standard positions to reduce escalations.
  • Maintain accurate contract status, terms, and approvals in Salesforce and the CLM, and support handoffs to Billing and Account Management after signature.
  • Maintain the Deal Desk playbook, including fallback positions, a clause library, an approval matrix, and information about why deals get stuck.

Benefits

  • Sword offers additional benefits beyond total compensation; country-specific benefits may vary and will be detailed separately.
