About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Daycare Teacher to encourage children’s intellectual, psychological, and physical growth. The ideal candidate is nurturing, patient, and creative, with a passion for helping children learn and reach their potential.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma, GED, or qualifying college education.
• Complete 90 clock hours of approved early childhood training, 6 semester hours of equivalent coursework, or another MSDE-recognized qualifying credential.
• Complete 9 hours of approved communication training or a qualifying college course.
• Complete 3 hours of approved ADA training.
• Complete or be eligible to complete required health and safety training within the applicable regulatory timeframe.
• Have at least one year of qualifying preschool experience, college education, or an approved combination.
• Meet all applicable background screening, health, and employment suitability requirements.
• Complete required annual professional development.
• Have previous experience as a daycare teacher or childcare provider.
• Have a strong understanding of child development.
• Be patient, kind, and nurturing.
• Have excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Be certified in first aid/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Plan games and activities that are developmentally appropriate.
• Design a daily and weekly schedule.
• Provide basic care and caregiving activities.
• Evaluate children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestones.
• Communicate with parents and update them on their children’s activities.
