About The Position

The daycare teacher develops and delivers age-appropriate learning activities, supervises children, supports their development, and communicates with parents. Positions are year-round and permanent; seasonal or summer-only roles are not available. The posting advertises Lead and Floater Teachers and also describes Toddler Assistant, Preschool Assistant, and Full-Time Closer opportunities. Schedules and pay vary by role. A Preschool Assistant part-time schedule is available Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; this is a fixed schedule. Toddler Assistants work with children ages 18–36 months. The Full-Time Closer schedule is 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Each center is independently owned and operated. Applications go directly to the center, whose management makes hiring decisions.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have at least one year of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
For Lead Teacher positions, have a CDA or a degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education.

OCFS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop a careful, creative program appropriate for specific age groups of children.
Teach children using varied educational techniques, such as storytelling, educational play, and media.
Guide children in developing artistic and practical capabilities through a structured curriculum.
Organize nap and snack times and supervise children to ensure their safety.
Track children's progress and communicate regularly with parents.
Maintain a clean, tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
