About The Position
We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Daycare Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children while supporting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. The teacher will plan age-appropriate activities, manage the classroom, and communicate effectively with families and staff. The position is located in Leander, Texas, and reports to the Director or Assistant Director.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Patience and compassion.
- Classroom management skills.
- Creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Organization and attention to detail.
- Dependability and professionalism.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
Nice To Haves
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early learning standards.
- Bilingual abilities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate educational activities and lesson plans.
- Foster children's positive social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist children with daily routines, including meals, toileting, rest time, and hygiene practices.
- Observe and document children's progress and developmental milestones.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and daily activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Follow licensing regulations, health and safety policies, and center procedures.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and administrative staff to support program goals.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
