DSP: Day Program Aide (Mon-Fri 1st shift)
About The Position
ViaQuest Day & Employment Services is hiring a Day Program Aide to support individuals with developmental disabilities in its Day Program. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday on the first shift, and pays $17.50 per hour. No prior experience is required; training is provided in its entirety. The aide provides direct care and support to promote individuals’ independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring their health and safety. The role includes supervising, teaching, and assisting individuals in daily activities, providing personal care, transporting individuals between their homes and the Day Program in a company passenger van, and assisting with community outings.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Motor vehicle record must meet stated requirements, including no OVI/DUI, reckless operation, or speeding violations more than 20 MPH over the posted limit; no more than two moving violations in the last two years or more than five points.
- Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and assist individuals as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring health and safety.
- Supervise, teach, and assist individuals in all aspects of their lives.
- Transport individuals between their homes and the Day Program using a company passenger van.
- Provide personal care assistance.
- Transport and assist individuals during community outings.
