About The Position

Havertys is seeking an energetic Distribution Team member to handle merchandise in its warehouse. The role involves operating a lift, moving and staging furniture and other home goods, preparing merchandise for scheduled deliveries and customer pickups, and maintaining accurate tags and a safe, orderly work environment. Onsite, hands-on training begins on the first day and covers Havertys standards for handling and delivering quality merchandise. The position works Sunday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. until completion. Pay starts at $18.25 per hour, with the possibility of higher pay based on experience.

Requirements

• Must be able to safely operate a stockpicker/cherrypicker.
• Must be able to lift up to 150 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Must complete and understand all company-sponsored safety programs.
• Must have a clear criminal background and be able to pass a physical and drug test.
• Must successfully complete a physical assessment to be considered for the position.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and operate equipment such as cherry pickers and clamp trucks.

Responsibilities

• Stock warehouse racks with incoming merchandise and pull merchandise for scheduled deliveries and customer pickups.
• Inspect and safely operate lift equipment each day.
• Lift and move merchandise between staging areas and warehouse racks.
• Ensure merchandise is tagged correctly.
• Perform inventory reconciliation counts as needed.
• Debox or unwrap furniture and inspect it for defects or damage as needed.
• Follow safety policies and regulations and complete company-sponsored safety programs.
• Maintain a clean, clear work environment free from trip hazards.
• Perform building maintenance functions as needed.
• Move furniture to and from racks and load and unload trucks.
