About the position
The Datacenter Operations Specialist at Leaseweb is responsible for the configuration, installation, and support of servers in the Tokyo Datacenter and other locations in the region. They will manage complex installations and customer projects, as well as assist customers with server and equipment installations. This role requires strong knowledge of operating systems, hardware, and networking. The Datacenter Operations Specialist will work closely with the Managing Director and collaborate with the team to improve department processes.
Responsibilities
- Installation, relocation, and removal of server equipment at the Datacenter
- Taking ownership and giving lead to customer projects, relocation projects, and complex installations
- On the Job training of Datacenter Operations Engineers
- Assistance of customers within Datacenters (for customers with their own racks/servers)
- Capable of analyzing data and advising the local team manager on improvements to be made to the department local processes
- Upgrade/downgrade of server equipment (memory/hard disks/etc.)
- Replacement of hardware and handling of all relevant administrative matters
- Testing servers and server equipment in accordance with standards
- Work with remote hands partners to support installation and/or adjustment of servers
- At least multiple years of hands-on experience working in a Datacenter with servers
- Strong Knowledge of various operating systems, especially Linux
- Strong Knowledge of Hardware (Servers, Switches, KVM, Hard Drives, Memory etc.)
- Network knowledge (adjusting DNS/IP/Netmask/gateway/etc.)
- Certificate or degree in Computer Science or similar discipline preferably with an emphasis in Te
Requirements
