Data Scientist - Energy Market Analysis

Aquila Clean Energy is seeking a Data Scientist - Energy Market Analysis for their office in Madrid. The role involves utilizing advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to develop predictive models and algorithms for energy market analysis. The Data Scientist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data inputs, validate model outputs, and refine forecasting methodologies. They will also support the development of data-driven solutions and products to enhance market analysis capabilities and communicate findings to internal stakeholders and clients. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering, maths, physics, or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience in energy market analysis and forecasting.

• Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to develop predictive models and algorithms for energy market analysis.
• Analyse historical data, market trends, and external factors impacting the energy market to identify patterns, correlations, and potential risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data inputs, validate model outputs, and refine forecasting methodologies to reflect current and future market and regulatory scenarios.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software developers to design and implement data infrastructure and data pipelines.
• Support the development of innovative data-driven solutions and products to enhance market analysis capabilities.
• Develop data visualization tools and dashboards to effectively communicate findings and analysis to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Deliver qualitative and quantitative analysis in written or oral form.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, maths, physics, or a related field. A master's degree or higher is preferred, especially in Power Systems Engineering or Data Analytics.
• 3+ years of related experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role, with a focus on energy market analysis and forecasting. Preferably in business areas like (energy) consultancy, utility (focusing on energy markets), developer or financial institution.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning techniques.
