Data Engineer

We are seeking a driven data engineer to join our team at Hummingbird. In this role, you will play a crucial part in leveraging data to fight financial crime and provide powerful tools for our users. As a small startup, you will have the opportunity to wear multiple hats and work on various stages of product development. We are looking for someone who has experience in taking projects from inception to production and is excited about pioneering data practices in a fast-growing startup.

• Level up the use of data to make better decisions, build more powerful features, and fight financial crime
• Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage and deploy infrastructure that supports a variety of different projects, such as data replication and orchestration for machine learning workflows
• Build new data pipelines for ingesting data into the data warehouse via both batch and streaming architectures
• Work closely with data science to enable the building of products that benefit customers while keeping compliance and security at the forefront
• Achieve goals through a combination of independent building, educating peers, and influencing others to contribute towards the vision
• Take projects from the earliest stages through successful rollout to production
• Pioneer data as a practice at a fast-growing startup and dig in to discover what is possible
• Cut across organizational lines to understand the business and identify the most valuable opportunities
