About the position
Retool is seeking an engineer to help build out their data ecosystem and solidify their reporting capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for data warehouse management and tooling, and will take ownership of the company's data stack to ensure that teammates have access to the data they need. This role will involve working with stakeholders across the business, including data scientists, finance, marketing, engineering, product, operations, and support.
Responsibilities
- Design and build a foundation that strengthens Retool's data culture at scale
- Take on projects that solidify Retool's reporting capabilities and help the company remain data-driven
- Develop and scale ingestion infrastructure, optimize ETLs, and design data architecture for scale
- Manage data warehouse management and tooling
- Take ownership of the data stack to ensure teammates can access the data they need and technical teams can quickly implement events
- Work with stakeholders across the business, including data scientists, finance, marketing, engineering, product, operations, and support.

- Architect and scale a modern data platform that will be used internally by all of Retool
- Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines to efficiently process and transform large volumes of data from source systems into the data warehouse
- Work with engineering teams to ensure robust instrumentation across areas of the product
- Partner with business stakeholders to synthesize and develop requirements for core tables
- Implement monitoring and observability to guarantee data quality and consistency.
