About the position
Retool is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their Developer Toolchain team and help scale the team. The role involves effectively communicating and collaborating with product management and designers, managing a team of engineers, defining team strategy, meeting with customers to understand product sentiment, introducing scalable processes, and partnering with recruiting to build a diverse team. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with product management and product designers
- Manage a fullstack team of engineers; support the team by identifying growth opportunities, providing continuous feedback and performance management as appropriate
- Define team strategy and ensure execution to maximize business impact for the Developer Toolchain team
- Meet with customers to better understand product sentiment
- Introduce scalable, repeatable processes that help engineering and product teams deliver a successful product
- Partner with recruiting on building out a diverse team of engineers
Requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with product management and product designers
- Experience managing a fullstack team of engineers
- Ability to identify growth opportunities and provide continuous feedback and performance management
- Strong strategic thinking and execution skills to maximize business impact
- Willingness to meet with customers to understand product sentiment
- Knowledge of introducing scalable and repeatable processes for successful product delivery
- Experience in recruiting and building a diverse team of engineers
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
