About The Position

The Dairy Supervisor assists the Grocery Manager in directing the operation of the Dairy Department, including supervising and training personnel. The role supports ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, merchandising, and display building while maintaining product quality and department standards. The supervisor promotes enthusiastic customer awareness and safe, friendly, courteous service, and uses suggestive selling and other sales techniques. The position may also assist with dry grocery order writing, grocery stocking and conditioning, reclamation, and cashier duties.

• Ability to frequently reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to approximately 80 pounds from floor level to overhead.
• Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for long periods and bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• May need to climb ladders.
• May utilize cleaning supplies, chemicals, and safety cutters.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Grocery Manager in directing the Dairy Department and supervising and training personnel.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness and provide safe, friendly, and courteous service.
• Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
• Assist with planning and organizing regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
• Rotate and face products, clean and dust shelves, and process and discard outdated or spoiled products.
• Prevent the sale of out-of-code products.
• Order Dairy merchandise.
• Train, teach, and coach dairy stocking and conditioning standards.
• Assist with dry grocery order writing and grocery stocking and conditioning.
• Work on new items and assist with the reclamation process.
• Manage backroom inventory, conditions, and standards.
• Assist with grocery department merchandising and building displays.
• May act as a backup cashier.
• Comply with Company policies, including attendance, grooming standards, and dress codes.
