About The Position

The Dairy Sales Associate keeps the dairy department stocked, appealing, clean, and operating efficiently while providing polite and professional customer service. The associate maintains product freshness, rotation, pricing, and saleability; handles spoiled, damaged, or near-expiration merchandise according to company procedures; and maintains the sales floor, cooler, and backroom. The role may include assisting with deliveries, inventory, cardboard baling, and work in other departments. The associate follows department and store procedures, health and OSHA requirements, and uses company-provided personal protective equipment. No supervisory responsibilities are assigned.

Requirements

Completed or working toward a high school diploma or GED.
No prior experience required.
Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without an accommodation.
Use company-provided personal protective equipment.
At least 18 years old and properly trained for cardboard baling or related duties, if assigned.

Responsibilities

Keep the dairy department stocked and appealing while meeting customer demands and efficiency and productivity standards.
Greet customers, answer questions, and promptly and professionally help resolve concerns.
Maintain freshness and saleability of dairy products by following rotation standards and ensuring correct pricing, tags, and signage.
Handle spoiled, damaged, and near-expiration merchandise according to company procedures and standards.
Maintain the sales floor, cooler, and backroom.
Maintain department sanitation by following cleaning schedules and guidelines, keeping work areas and equipment clean, disposing of trash properly, and meeting health and OSHA requirements.
May assist with receiving, unloading, checking in, breaking down, and storing deliveries using a power jack or hand jack when properly trained.
Help review orders to manage inventory levels, minimize losses by following time and temperature guidelines, and report damages or discrepancies to the Dairy Leader or store management.
May assist with baling cardboard or related duties if at least 18 years old and properly trained.
Cooperate with coworkers and supervisors to support smooth department and store operations and continuously improve job performance.
Use company-provided personal protective equipment, including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
May assist in other departments.
