About The Position

The Dairy/Lead Clerk plans, organizes, trains, and directs Grocery Clerks while performing production and customer-service functions to maximize store sales and profits. The position organizes and schedules associates, manages ordering and merchandise presentation, maintains product quality and department conditions, and supports department goals and budgets. It also involves coaching and supervising direct reports, maintaining equipment and facilities safely, and assisting with inventories, store resets, remodels, and promotional projects. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Organize work, train and schedule associates to provide prompt, courteous service.
Respond appropriately and professionally to customer or associate comments, complaints, requests, and questions.
Use Computer Assisted Ordering to order appropriate quantities of merchandise and supplies and ensure accurate accounting of received products and on-hand balances.
Perform and direct others in pricing and displaying merchandise.
Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation.
Coach associates in effective merchandising, customer service, product presentation, and promotional activities.
Implement company programs and follow company policies and procedures, including maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Provide input on department budgets, goals, and results, and work to maximize department and store sales and profits.
Communicate and interact with associates and customers to create a positive impression.
Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely according to company policies and procedures.
Keep floor, shelf, and display areas clean and up to sanitary standards.
Maintain accurately updated department temperature logs on all shifts and ensure clerks do so as well.
Assist with special projects, including periodic inventories, store resets, remodels, and special merchandising promotions.
Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
