About The Position

The Dairy/Lead Clerk plans, organizes, trains, and directs Grocery Clerks while performing production and customer service functions to maximize store sales and profits. The position involves organizing and scheduling associates, managing merchandise orders and inventory, directing pricing and displays, maintaining product freshness and department standards, and supporting merchandising and promotional activities. The Dairy/Lead Clerk also contributes to department goals and budgets, maintains safe and sanitary facilities, keeps temperature logs, assists with inventories and store projects, and supervises, coaches, and reviews direct reports. Responsibilities

Organize, train, and schedule associates to provide prompt, courteous service.
Respond appropriately and professionally to customer and associate comments, complaints, requests, and questions.
Use Computer Assisted Ordering to order appropriate quantities of merchandise and supplies and ensure accurate accounting of received product and on-hand balances.
Perform and direct others in pricing and displaying merchandise.
Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation.
Coach associates in merchandising, customer service, product presentation, and promotional activities.
Implement company programs and follow company policies and procedures, including those intended to maintain a workplace free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Provide input on department budgets, goals, and results, and maximize department and store sales and profits.
Communicate and interact with associates and customers to create a positive impression.
Maintain equipment and facilities safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Keep floors, shelves, and display areas clean and sanitary.
Maintain accurate department temperature logs on all shifts and ensure clerks do so as well.
Assist with special projects, including inventories, store resets, remodels, and merchandising promotions.
Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
