About The Position
The Dairy & Freezer Clerk maintains the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, product rotation, and product integrity. The role supports merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards while delivering excellent service to Members. The clerk helps keep the department organized and efficient and contributes to the success of the perishables team. The position also supports team engagement, a safe and collaborative environment, and a positive Member experience. It contributes to club standards and goals by completing daily tasks accurately and consistently, using supplies responsibly, and working efficiently to support department performance and profitability.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Basic knowledge of cold chain management, food safety standards, and product handling requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking skills.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and email.
Responsibilities
- Stock dairy and freezer products according to company planograms and visual standards.
- Monitor temperature control and cold chain integrity; replenish low or missing items to maintain freshness and availability.
- Rotate products using FIFO procedures to reduce waste and maintain product quality.
- Inspect product condition and expiration dates, removing damaged or outdated items.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning of coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
- Monitor in-stock levels and assist with replenishment to keep the department full and shoppable.
- Verify items are correctly signed and priced.
- Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising plans.
- Follow company policies and procedures for dairy and freezer operations.
- Perform other duties and provide additional support across departments as assigned.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Engage Members in a friendly and helpful manner, respond promptly to questions or concerns, and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor when necessary.
