About The Position

The Dairy & Freezer Clerk maintains the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, product rotation, and product integrity. The role supports merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards while providing excellent service to Members. It helps keep the department organized and efficient and contributes to the success of the perishables team.

The clerk stocks products according to company planograms, monitors cold-chain conditions and in-stock levels, rotates products using FIFO procedures, and checks items for freshness, expiration dates, and damage. The role also includes cleaning coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving; checking signage and pricing; supporting seasonal merchandising; following company policies; and providing additional departmental support as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is expected.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Basic knowledge of cold-chain management, food safety standards, and product handling requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
• Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces.
• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
• Work in temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas.
• Potential exposure to cleaning agents and frozen or dairy-related allergens.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and email.

Responsibilities

• Stock dairy and freezer products according to company planograms.
• Monitor temperature control and cold-chain integrity, and replenish low or missing items.
• Rotate products using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures.
• Inspect products for expiration dates and condition; remove damaged or outdated items.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including cleaning coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
• Monitor in-stock levels and assist with replenishment to maintain product availability.
• Verify that items are correctly signed and priced.
• Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising plans.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Perform other duties and provide support across departments as assigned.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Deliver Member service by engaging helpfully, addressing questions or concerns, and escalating unresolved issues to a supervisor.
• Demonstrate inclusive, ethical, positive, and collaborative conduct and support team success.
• Complete daily work accurately and efficiently to support club standards, performance goals, and responsible use of supplies.
