About The Position

The Dairy & Freezer Clerk maintains the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, rotation, and product integrity. The role supports merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards while providing excellent service to Members. It helps keep the department organized and efficient and contributes to the success of the perishables team.

The clerk stocks products according to company planograms, monitors temperature control and availability, rotates products using FIFO procedures, and checks products for expiration dates and condition. The role also includes cleaning coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving; verifying signage and pricing; supporting seasonal merchandising; following company policies and procedures; and assisting other departments as needed. The position requires regular, predictable, full attendance.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic knowledge of cold chain management, food safety standards, and product handling requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking skills.
• Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
• Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces.
• Ability to work in temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas and potential exposure to cleaning agents and dairy- or frozen-product-related allergens.

Nice To Haves

• 1+ year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and email.

Responsibilities

• Stock dairy and freezer products according to company planograms.
• Monitor temperature control and support cold chain integrity; replenish low or missing items.
• Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Inspect products for expiration dates and condition, and remove damaged or outdated items.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning of coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
• Monitor in-stock levels and assist with replenishment to maintain product availability.
• Verify that items are correctly signed and priced.
• Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising plans.
• Follow company policies and procedures for dairy and freezer operations.
• Perform other duties and provide support across departments as assigned.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Deliver member service in a friendly and helpful manner, respond to questions or concerns, and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor when necessary.
• Support team engagement, club standards, daily execution, and department performance.
