About The Position

The Dairy & Freezer Clerk maintains the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, rotation, and product integrity. The role supports merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards while delivering excellent service to Members. It helps keep the department organized and efficient and contributes to the success of the perishables team.

The clerk stocks products according to company planograms; monitors cold-chain integrity and inventory; rotates products using FIFO procedures; checks product condition and expiration dates; and maintains food safety and sanitation, including cleaning coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving. The role also supports replenishment, verifies signage and pricing, assists with seasonal merchandising, follows company policies and procedures, and provides support across departments as needed. Consistent, predictable attendance is required.

Team members are expected to demonstrate inclusive and ethical behavior, foster collaboration, support their colleagues, and provide friendly, helpful Member service. They follow service standards, respond to Member questions or concerns, and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor. They are also expected to complete work accurately and efficiently, use supplies responsibly, and support department and club performance goals.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of cold-chain management, food safety standards, and product handling requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking skills.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces; regular lifting of up to 30 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
• Ability to work around temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas and potential exposure to cleaning agents and frozen/dairy-related allergens.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and email.

Responsibilities

• Stock dairy and freezer products according to company planograms.
• Monitor temperature control and cold-chain integrity, and replenish low or missing items.
• Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Inspect products for expiration dates and condition, and remove damaged or outdated items.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning of coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
• Monitor in-stock levels and assist with replenishment to maintain product availability.
• Verify accurate product signage and pricing.
• Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising plans.
• Perform dairy and freezer operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Provide additional support across departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to Members, address questions or concerns, and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor.
• Use supplies responsibly and complete tasks accurately and efficiently to support club goals and performance.
