About The Position

This is a finance position responsible for maintaining the integrity of in-house inventory. The Cycle Counter performs cycle counts, records and maintains information about the quantity, type, and value of stocked materials, equipment, merchandise, and supplies, and researches the causes of count discrepancies. The role also performs quality checks and supports the product recall process. On scheduled Saturdays, the Cycle Counter serves as a Will-call Clerk.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
Exemplary listening skills to support effective two-way communication.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Solid problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

Ensure the integrity of physical in-house inventory through cycle counting and other assigned duties.
Cycle count the warehouse at least four times a year, including all pick and reserve slots, to identify discrepancies and product or packaging integrity issues.
Perform quality checks on date-sensitive, slow-moving, and obsolete items in coordination with Merchandising; perform the recoup function.
Research causes of weight variances, receiving, put-away, and letdown issues, and damaged products in slots following warehouse moves.
Proactively check First-in First-out (FIFO) items for proper rotation.
Confirm reserves are properly recorded and verify the count of each reserve pallet.
Verify the put-away and transfer processes performed by day and night personnel.
Initiate and document product transfers from the cooler to the freezer.
Review standard management reports and research causes of inventory shrink.
Coordinate will-call orders when scheduled.
