Industrial Supply Customer Support Specialist
About The Position
Productivity is a machine tool distributor headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota, supplying metalworking equipment, tooling, safety products, and industrial supplies. The Customer Support Specialist provides product and technical information on safety and industrial supply products to support customers and the outside sales team. The role is based in the office and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The listed pay is $26.00–$30.00 per hour. Requirements
- Product knowledge in safety, MRO/industrial supply, and abrasive products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, research, time-management, and follow-up skills.
- Capable computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Google searching.
- Ability to maintain a positive and productive work atmosphere through appropriate communication and conduct with customers, coworkers, vendors, and management.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, will call, and other channels in a timely, professional, and solutions-focused manner.
- Research, source, and recommend industrial supply and safety products, including alternatives for backordered or unavailable products.
- Prepare and follow up on quotes; check pricing and availability; enter customer orders accurately; and provide delivery status and lead-time updates.
- Work with Industrial Supply Outside Sales Representatives and Sales Management to identify sales opportunities, support account growth, and strengthen customer relationships.
- Consult with customers on effective products and value, and promote programs, special offers, in-stock items, and complementary products.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships to support sourcing, pricing inquiries, product availability, and customer satisfaction.
- Expand product knowledge through supplier training, industry education, and manufacturer resources.
- Assist with daily department operations and perform additional duties as needed to support business objectives and customer requirements.
