About The Position

Productivity Inc. is a machine tool distributor headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota, supplying metalworking equipment, tooling, and safety and industrial supply products. This Customer Service Specialist role is based at the company’s Arden, North Carolina location and provides product and technical information about safety and industrial supply products to customers and the outside sales team. The position works in the office Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Product knowledge in safety, MRO/industrial supply, and abrasive products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, research, time-management, and follow-up skills.
• Capable computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Google searching.
• Ability to maintain a positive and productive work atmosphere through effective interactions with customers, coworkers, vendors, and management.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, will call, and other channels in a timely, professional, and solutions-focused manner.
• Research, source, and recommend industrial supply and safety products, including alternate solutions for backordered or unavailable items.
• Prepare and follow up on quotes; check pricing and product availability; enter customer orders accurately; and provide delivery-status and lead-time updates.
• Partner with Industrial Supply Outside Sales Representatives and Sales Management to identify sales opportunities, support account growth, and strengthen customer relationships.
• Consult with customers on effective products and best-value solutions, and promote current programs, special offers, in-stock items, and complementary products.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships to support sourcing, pricing inquiries, availability, and customer satisfaction.
• Expand product knowledge through supplier training, industry education, and manufacturer resources.
• Assist with day-to-day department operations and other duties as needed to support business objectives and customer requirements.
• Provide primary backup support to warehouse operations as needed.
