About The Position

Kinetic, a business unit of Uniti, is hiring a Customer Service Technician to provide technical expertise and customer support for residential and business communications services. The role installs and repairs telephone, internet, and video services, and helps customers identify products and services that address their communications needs. Technicians work with multiple technologies and network designs in buried and aerial plant, in both indoor and outdoor environments. The position includes pole climbing and ladder work, operating and maintaining a company service vehicle, and completing required safety training and following applicable safety standards and regulations. The role follows a union bidding process.

Requirements

Basic technology and math skills.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record, which must be maintained.
Ability to distinguish colors in color-coded cable.
Ability to use equipment with a maximum load capacity of 275 pounds.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work aloft.
Ability to successfully complete required safety training.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Compliance with weight restrictions and safe load limits for equipment and ladders.

Nice To Haves

Customer service or sales experience.
Certifications or training directly related to the position.
Two-year technical degree in computers or electronics, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

Install and repair residential and business telephone, internet, and video services.
Train and work with tools and test equipment to service multiple technologies and network designs.
Recommend products and services that meet customers’ communications needs.
Work in buried and aerial plant, including pole climbing and ladder work.
Safely operate and maintain a clean, organized company service vehicle.
Work in indoor and outdoor environments.
Complete required safety training and follow safety standards and regulations.
Work assigned schedules and extended hours, including day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours, and respond to after-hours callouts.
