About The Position

Nordstrom Rack team members work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, collaborating to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere and provide customers with a quick, easy experience. Team members help keep the store clean and clutter-free and may work across different areas of the store, including the sales floor and stockrooms. Available roles include Sales, Customer Service, Stock, and Fulfillment; candidates can discuss their preferred role during the interview process. Sales and Customer Service work includes keeping the sales floor sized, filled, and ready through re-merchandising and straightening; assisting customers with in-store, online, and mobile transactions; supporting fitting rooms; sorting and returning clothing; organizing stockrooms; using store technologies; following operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards; and promoting Nordstrom Rewards. Stock Support and Fulfillment work includes receiving and processing freight and merchandise, fulfilling and shipping customer orders, using inventory management systems, maintaining clean and organized sales floors and stockrooms, and providing general store support such as event setup, markdowns, backroom organization, and moving fixtures. The role requires continuous movement and regular handling and lifting of merchandise.

Ability to move continuously for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
For Stock and Fulfillment roles, ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for customers.
Keep the store clean and clutter-free and help maintain sales floors and stockrooms.
Keep the sales floor ready, sized, and filled through re-merchandising and straightening.
Assist customers with in-store, online, and mobile transactions, including operating point-of-sale systems and bagging merchandise.
Provide a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the floor.
Sort and return clothing to the sales floor.
Keep stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is checked in and accurately ticketed.
Demonstrate expertise in technologies used in the store.
Follow operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
Promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Receive and unload freight, unpack merchandise, and deliver it to selling departments.
Fulfill customer orders promptly and according to quality standards.
Prepare and ship customer orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
Use inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory control processes.
Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing the backroom, completing markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
