About The Position

Chevron Stations Inc. is hiring a Customer Service Representative to provide customer service and perform cashiering, cooking, stocking, and cleaning duties at a Chevron station in Nipomo, California. This is a part-time role with afternoon and weekend availability needed. The position includes operating point-of-sale systems, handling cash and payments, preparing food and beverages, maintaining food safety and sanitation, and cleaning indoor and outdoor station facilities. Employees are expected to follow company safety, security, quality, cash-handling, and customer-service procedures, maintain a professional appearance, and attend work regularly and punctually. Requirements

Sufficient English proficiency to understand CSI policies, safety training, and job instructions, and to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers about work.
Availability to work a variety of hours, potentially including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and exercise exceptional judgment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Current food-handling certificates where required by law for the location.
At least 18 years of age for California and Oregon locations; higher age minimums apply to Washington locations and certain shifts or roles.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on hard and uneven surfaces.
Ability to bend, lift, push, and move products using proper lifting techniques; use team lifting for objects that are too heavy or awkward, and for objects over 25 pounds.
Ability to stand, bend, and reach frequently and perform tasks requiring moderate manual dexterity.
Ability to work safely with high-temperature equipment while using appropriate personal protective equipment.
Ability to tolerate periodic exposure to outdoor conditions and moderate exposure to walk-in coolers and freezers at 34°F or lower.
Ability to wash hands frequently and maintain personal cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, courteous guest service, including greeting and thanking customers and making eye contact.
Accurately and safely complete retail and fuel sales transactions using applicable forms of payment and following CSI procedures.
Maintain the cash drawer within its required maximum, secure funds in a safe, and reconcile cashier transactions at the end of each shift.
Clean indoor and outdoor facilities, including restrooms, islands, pumps, and car washes where applicable.
Prepare food and hot beverage products while following food-safety and sanitation procedures.
Monitor and restock ExtraMile and/or KKC foodservice and beverage products to support sales and minimize loss.
Promote store specials and marketing programs.
Check delivered goods for price accuracy and distribute products throughout the store, including retail shelves and coolers.
Follow applicable local requirements when activating and filling vehicle fuel tanks, where relevant.
Maintain professional contact with coworkers, customers, vendors, contractors, and the community.
Follow safety, security, quality, loss prevention, and company policies and report accidents or incidents promptly.
Follow laws and company standards for checking identification for age-restricted products.
Maintain a neat appearance and good personal hygiene in compliance with CSI standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
