About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring a Customer Service Representative at Escape the Crate Garden City to provide a welcoming and professional experience for clients and their pets. The role supports a pet-care facility offering services such as day care, boarding, grooming, training, and veterinary services. The representative handles client communication and transactions, assists with pet arrivals and departures, and helps maintain a clean, welcoming lobby. The position reports to the General Manager.

This role involves frequent standing and walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 40 pounds, and exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and pet accidents. Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required or requested in the posting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Reliable and able to work well in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Comfort with multi-line phones and computer systems.
• Ability to remain professional under pressure and solve problems.
• Able to lift 40 pounds.
• Availability on weekends and mornings; the posting also notes availability for evenings and holidays.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service or retail experience.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• A strong interest in pets and working with pet families.

Responsibilities

• Welcome pet parents and their pets.
• Answer phones and manage multiple tasks.
• Tour prospective clients through the facility and sell services.
• Ensure pet vaccination records are up to date.
• Manage pet check-ins and check-outs.
• Handle cash and card transactions and balance the end-of-day cash drawer.
• Respond to client complaints patiently and professionally.
• Escort pets to and from their enclosures.
• Keep the lobby clean and welcoming.
• Support other team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
