About The Position

The Customer Service Representative helps customers access financial services by building relationships, processing transactions, and providing an exceptional in-store experience. The role includes customer account support, business development, store operations, security, compliance, and participation in community events. The position is entry-level and offers hands-on training, coaching, and opportunities for career development and advancement. This is an in-person, full-time role requiring at least 40 hours per week and regular attendance, including weekends. The position is based at California Check Cashing Stores in Seaside, California. The stated hourly wage is $21.00. Store hours and minimum hours may vary by brand and may change at the Company’s discretion.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional demeanor with customers and colleagues.
Meticulous attention to detail and ability to enter data accurately.
Proficiency with phones, POS systems, Microsoft Office, and other computer systems.
Must be at least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama).
Must pass a background check, conducted and considered in accordance with applicable law.
Ability to meet physical demands that frequently include remaining stationary and standing for up to 90% of the time, moving and transporting up to 25 pounds, moving inside and outside the store, and operating mechanical controls such as a keyboard.

Nice To Haves

Experience in check cashing, document verification, and/or money order processing.
Prior cash handling and cash drawer or vault management experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish skills; may be required at certain locations.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and personal vehicle for use during the workday; mileage is compensated.

Responsibilities

Build lasting customer relationships that encourage repeat business.
Review, validate, and accurately process customer transactions, including check cashing, money transfers, and customer payments.
Offer personalized financial services to support customer success.
Enter and maintain customer information accurately in a Point of Sale (POS) system.
Complete daily call campaigns to build new business.
Support customer account management and collections by accepting payments and managing appointments.
Perform duties outside the office where applicable, including vehicle appraisals, store errands, and external marketing.
Participate in in-store and community events.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the store.
Follow security protocols and perform opening and closing procedures, including vault and cash drawer management as needed.
Comply with Company policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Participate in ongoing training and stay current on product and process changes.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet individual and team performance standards.
Perform additional tasks as directed by leadership.
Maintain a full-time schedule of at least 40 hours per week with regular in-person attendance, including weekends.
