About The Position

This employee communicates with customers to answer questions, resolve problems, determine ongoing and additional product or service needs, and support compliance with physician direction. The role handles customer communications, education, order entry, and maintenance of computerized customer records.

Requirements

• Ability to read and analyze documents such as patient orders.
• Ability to comprehend pharmacy prescription terminology.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and patients.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to frequency and doses dispensed.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out oral and written instructions.
• High school diploma, GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Computer entry skills required.
• Must meet any licensing requirements necessary for the specific location.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers through inbound and outbound manual calls and outbound calls generated by an automated dialer system.
• Assess customer needs for additional products or services.
• Assess customer compliance with physician orders.
• Answer questions and provide customer education regarding products and services.
• Document calls in a computerized record-keeping system.
• Enter customer orders into a computerized system.
• Verify and update demographic information, such as addresses and telephone numbers, in computerized records.
• Help with the training of employees.
