About The Position

This employee communicates with customers to answer questions, resolve problems, determine ongoing and additional product or service needs, and support compliance with physician direction. The role handles customer calls, provides product and service education, records interactions and orders in computerized systems, and maintains customer demographic information.

Requirements

• Read and analyze documents such as patient orders.
• Comprehend pharmacy prescription terminology.
• Effectively communicate with coworkers and patients.
• Calculate figures and amounts related to frequency and doses dispensed.
• Apply common-sense understanding to carry out oral and written instructions.
• High school diploma, GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Computer entry is required.
• Must meet any licensing requirements necessary for the specific location.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers through inbound and outbound manual calls and outbound calls generated by an automated dialer system.
• Assess customers’ need for additional products or services.
• Assess customer compliance with physician orders.
• Answer questions and provide customer education regarding products and services.
• Document calls in a computerized record-keeping system.
• Enter customer orders in a computerized system.
• Verify and update demographic information, such as addresses and telephone numbers, in computerized records.
• Help with the training of employees.
