About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a friendly, motivated Customer Service / Lot Attendant to help customers with U-Haul products and services while inspecting and maintaining equipment. The role works as part of a supportive team and uses current technology to dispatch and return equipment. On-the-job education is offered, including ongoing learning through U-Haul University. Certifications for propane filling and forklift operation are offered through U-Haul after employment. The position is located at 8207 Terminal Rd, Lorton, Virginia 22079. Compensation is $12.00 to $13.00 per hour. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. U-Haul states that it does not hire or re-hire nicotine-product users in Virginia and other listed states.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work and must not require employer sponsorship.
Ability to perform physical work that includes moving equipment weighing at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
Ability to work around moving parts or machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals, and to use protective clothing or gear when required.

Responsibilities

Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
Answer customer questions and educate customers about products and services.
Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
Install hitches and trailer wiring.
Fill propane; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
Drive a forklift; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Perform other duties as assigned.
