About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a friendly, motivated Customer Service / Lot Attendant to provide customer service and help inspect and maintain rental equipment. The role assists customers with U-Haul products and services, manages equipment rentals and returns using smartphone-based technology, and performs lot and equipment tasks. On-the-job education and ongoing training through U-Haul University are offered. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. The position is located at 5700 Gordon Dr, Sioux City, Iowa 51106. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving machinery, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Protective gear may be required. Physical activity includes standing for extended periods, moving indoors and outdoors, reaching at various heights, and moving equipment weighing at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine product users in Iowa and other listed states.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
Answer customer questions and explain products and services.
Prepare rental invoices and accept returned rental equipment.
Install hitches and trailer wiring.
Fill propane; certification is offered through U-Haul after employment.
Drive a forklift; certification is offered through U-Haul after employment.
Participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University.
Perform other duties as assigned.
