About The Position
Dime Commercial Bank is hiring a Customer Service Associate for its Bridgehampton Branch in Long Island. The role ensures customer requests and services are completed accurately, responds to inquiries in a timely manner, and processes routine banking transactions. The associate also provides account services, supports branch business development, follows regulatory and recordkeeping requirements, and identifies lending needs for referral to the appropriate department. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of retail banking experience required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills to uncover and resolve customer issues effectively.
- Thorough understanding of compliance and recordkeeping requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience as a Universal Banker, Relationship Banker, Customer Service Associate/Representative, or Financial Service Associate.
- Cash-handling experience.
- Advanced experience with PC, Network, E-Mail, Director, Internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and transaction research.
Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, money orders, cash advances, cashier’s checks, and night-drop bags.
- Reconcile the cash drawer by proving cash transactions and counting and packaging currency and coins.
- Perform account services for Dime customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide in-depth knowledge of Dime products and services to offer appropriate solutions.
- Support the Branch Manager’s business development efforts through in-branch sales, phone campaigns, and direct-mail campaigns.
- Report under Bank Secrecy Act requirements related to Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), and Dime’s internal Suspicious Activity Tracking Report.
- Perform New Account and File Maintenance reviews to ensure data accuracy and integrity for SOX 404 purposes.
- Maintain current knowledge of bank regulatory requirements.
- Identify consumer and commercial lending needs, service clients, and refer them to the appropriate department.
- Make decisions within the role’s authority, such as overdrafts, overrides, and signature guarantees, in lieu of absent managers.
- Cross-train on both the teller window and banking platform as required.
