About The Position

The Customer Sales Rep assists customers in initiating purchases and provides a high level of customer service to maintain a positive buying experience. The role involves helping customers select products, maintaining product knowledge, completing required firearm transfer paperwork accurately, and supporting store cleanliness and sales goals. The position reports directly to the store manager, though the Department Lead may provide daily duties or instructions. A commitment to following directions is required.

The position may require regular evening and weekend work, and may include holidays. Employees may encounter challenging customers. Physical demands may include extended periods of reading, writing, speaking, hearing, standing, walking, lifting up to 70 pounds, climbing, stooping, and sitting. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

The role may involve access to technology or software source code subject to U.S. export control laws (ITAR/EAR). Employment is contingent on verifying U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license or confirming the availability of a license exception. Applicants must provide information for export control screening, and the employer may decline to proceed if it does not pursue a license or exception.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous sales or customer service experience.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high customer volume.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, communicate, and interact positively with people.
• Positive attitude, goal-driven approach, customer-service orientation, and focus on the organization’s overall strategic picture.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of 4473 paperwork and the FBI NICS system.
• Cash handling and previous cash register experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with purchasing selections, including firearms, Class III items, ammunition, tactical, hunting, fishing, outdoor equipment, and men’s and women’s apparel.
• Provide outstanding customer service and greet customers promptly as they approach the work area.
• Resolve customer issues to the best of their ability.
• Maintain the store through tasks such as sweeping, dusting, restocking, and fronting merchandise.
• Complete Federal Firearms Transfer Records (4473) and related documents with 100% accuracy.
• Maintain a high working knowledge of product offerings to advise customers in their purchasing decisions.
• Remain impartial during sales and avoid allowing personal bias to negatively influence transactions.
• Close sales efficiently to meet overall store sales goals.
• Follow directions and perform other duties as assigned.
