About The Position

The Customer Relations Associate performs customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise carefully, and providing information and directions. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by assisting customers with purchasing decisions, recommending products based on their needs, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. The position also handles merchandise returns, sells hunting and fishing licenses, administers incentive and reward programs, and maintains product knowledge and awareness of advertised sales. This is a seasonal, part-time position. Starting pay is $17.13–$19.75 per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift and repeatedly use wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds constantly, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing 100 pounds or more using a team lift as needed.
• Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps and work in low or high temperatures and noisy environments.

Responsibilities

• Secure firearms brought into the store with trigger locks.
• Check in vendor representatives, complete visitor log information, and control visitor badges.
• Support a strong commitment to customer service and ensure a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Greet customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Handle merchandise returns and complete refund or exchange paperwork.
• Sort returned items by category and return them to the proper area.
• Sell appropriate hunting and fishing licenses.
• Handle and administer incentive and reward programs.
• Remain knowledgeable about products and advertised sales.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Assist customers with buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and making product recommendations.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
