About The Position

The Customer Relations Associate performs customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and warmly, handling merchandise carefully, and providing customers with information and directions. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience through customer assistance, merchandise returns, sales of appropriate hunting and fishing licenses, and promotion of company programs. The associate also secures firearms brought into the store, checks in vendor representatives, maintains product knowledge and awareness of advertised sales, and keeps the work area clean and stocked. Duties are performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate with customers and other associates in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including standing or walking throughout the shift and lifting or moving objects.

Responsibilities

• Secure all firearms brought into the store with trigger locks.
• Check in vendor representatives, complete visitor log information, and control visitor badges.
• Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and provide customers with a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Greet customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Handle customer merchandise returns and complete refund or exchange paperwork.
• Sort returns by category and return them to the proper area.
• Sell appropriate hunting and fishing licenses.
• Handle and administer incentive and reward programs.
• Remain knowledgeable about products and advertised sales.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Assist customers with buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and making product recommendations.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
