About The Position

The Customer Relations Associate performs customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information and directions. The associate helps create a pleasant and productive shopping experience and assists customers with buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.

The role also involves securing firearms brought into the store with trigger locks; checking in vendor representatives and managing visitor logs and badges; handling merchandise returns and related refund or exchange paperwork; sorting returned items; selling applicable hunting and fishing licenses; administering incentive and reward programs; staying knowledgeable about products and advertised sales; and keeping the work area clean, neat, and stocked. The associate follows company policies and procedures and performs other duties as assigned.

This is a part-time position. The stated starting pay rate is $15.00–$17.75. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate with customers and other associates in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.

Responsibilities

• Secure firearms brought into the store with trigger locks.
• Check in vendor representatives, complete visitor log information, and control visitor badges.
• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly, outgoing manner.
• Provide information and directions to customers and help create a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Handle merchandise returns and complete refund or exchange paperwork.
• Sort returns by category and return them to the proper area.
• Sell appropriate hunting and fishing licenses.
• Handle and administer incentive and reward programs.
• Remain knowledgeable about products and aware of advertised sales.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Identify and evaluate customers’ needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
