About The Position

The Customer Relations Associate performs customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing information and directions. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by helping customers with returns, merchandise questions, buying decisions, hunting and fishing licenses, and company programs. The associate also checks in vendor representatives, secures firearms brought into the store with trigger locks, and keeps the work area clean, stocked, and orderly. The position operates under general supervision and uses established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift.
• Ability to communicate continuously and repeat motions that may involve the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, or similar structures.
• Ability to occasionally work in low or high temperatures and noisy environments.
• Ability to perform light work, including constantly lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving objects weighing 100 pounds or more with a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Secure firearms brought into the store with trigger locks.
• Check in vendor representatives, complete visitor log information, and control visitor badges.
• Support world-class customer service and ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience.
• Greet customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Handle merchandise returns and complete refund or exchange paperwork.
• Sort returned merchandise by category and return it to the proper area.
• Sell appropriate hunting and fishing licenses.
• Handle and administer incentive and reward programs.
• Remain knowledgeable about products and advertised sales.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Assist customers with buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and making product recommendations.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
