About The Position

The Customer Relations Associate performs customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing information and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by assisting customers with buying decisions, making product recommendations, promoting programs, and remaining knowledgeable about products and advertised sales.

The associate also handles merchandise returns and related paperwork, sorts returned items, sells applicable Hunting and Fishing Licenses, administers incentive and reward programs, checks in vendor representatives, and secures firearms brought into the store with trigger locks. The position performs additional duties as assigned and works under general supervision using established procedures and occasional independent judgment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.

Responsibilities

• Secure firearms brought into the store with trigger locks.
• Check in vendor representatives, complete visitor log information, and control visitor badges.
• Provide friendly, prompt customer service and support a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Greet customers as they enter the store.
• Handle merchandise returns and complete refund or exchange paperwork.
• Sort returns by category and return them to the proper area.
• Sell appropriate Hunting and Fishing Licenses.
• Handle and administer incentive and reward programs.
• Remain knowledgeable about products and aware of advertised sales.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Assist customers with buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and making product recommendations.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
